Corita Kent was a screen printer, pop artist, and nun, known widely for her use of typography. My own type within the book references her through the irreverent breaking of words and by varying paragraph widths. A large number of fonts are also used throughout the book to again reflect Kent’s work which featured everything from extreme slab serifs to contemporary sans-serifs. I also created a graphic system that allowed her work to bleed out of its frame to let it truly take over and influence the composition.
